Herod
Cinnamon and pepper lead into tobacco leaf, with vanilla and cedar adding warm sweetness and wood.
Perfumer: Olivier Pescheux
Herod begins with the spicy warmth of cinnamon, moves into tobacco leaf and settles towards vanilla. Created by Olivier Pescheux and introduced in 2012, it places a calmer tobacco character beside sweeter, resinous and floral elements. That relationship forms the fragrance’s warmer centre.
Cinnamon and pepper open the fragrance before tobacco leaf, incense, cistus and osmanthus form the heart. Vanilla, musk and cedar provide the base. The drier character of tobacco meets softer flowers and the depth of resin, while wood gives the sweetness a clearer outline. The composition retains a quieter shadow within its warmth.
Consider it for an evening in cooler weather when tobacco and vanilla suit the occasion. This is a composition-based suggestion. The illustrated 125mL Eau de Parfum has a brown-toned metallic-looking bottle and matching cap, with raised horses, a shield marked 1743 and the house name on the front.
