Godolphin
Saffron and raspberry meet flowers, with leather and blond woods providing a richer texture.
Perfumer: Michèle Saramito
Godolphin moves from warm saffron towards the stronger character of leather. Created by Michèle Saramito and introduced in 2010, it places fruit and flowers beside a deeper leather-and-wood foundation. The fragrance’s centre connects the warmth of saffron with a richer, more tactile impression.
Thyme, saffron and raspberry lead into rose, iris and jasmine at the heart. Leather, ambrox and blond woods provide the base. Sweet-tart fruit and greener herbs are softened by flowers before meeting the clearer outline of leather and lighter wood, retaining a stronger texture beneath those gentler elements.
Consider it for a quieter evening outfit when fruit and leather make a fitting contrast. This is a composition-based suggestion. The illustrated 125mL Eau de Parfum has a gold-coloured metallic-looking bottle and matching cap, with raised horses, a shield marked 1743 and the house name on the front.
