Cedrus Ascent
A woody perfume oil rising from bergamot and Ma-Kwaen through Peru balsam and damask rose into a six-part base of hinoki, cedar and resins.
Cedrus Ascent is set amid ancient cedar forests. Its name joins the botanical genus of cedar with the idea of rising, and the brand describes a meditative journey from earthly roots to celestial heights, with cedarwood anchoring the spirit and sandalwood guiding it up through the fragrant canopy.
Bergamot and Ma-Kwaen open the composition. The bright citrus of bergamot meets Ma-Kwaen, a Thai relative of Sichuan pepper, whose tingling, citrus-edged spice sharpens the air before the woods take over.
The heart is Peru balsam with damask rose absolute. Peru balsam's sweet, vanilla-like resin melts into the deep petal tone of the rose, adding warmth between the bright top and the forest below.
The base is the largest tier, with six notes. Organic hinoki and cedarwood give dry conifer and timber, sandalwood smooths them with gentle sweetness, frankincense brings resinous smoke, patchouli adds earthy depth, and musk softens the whole against skin. The weight of the scent rests in this woody layer.
