Santal Austral Eau de Parfum
Australian sandalwood is given creamy texture by iris, an almond-milk facet, benzoin and tonka.
Perfumer: Aurélien Guichard
Santal Austral began with Guichard’s fascination for the way sandalwood develops on skin. He wanted the wood to feel bold from the first spray while remaining creamy and luminous. Texture becomes as central as the identity of the wood itself.
Organic Australian sandalwood oil is the central material. Tuscan iris absolute and an almond-milk note emphasise its velvety, creamy character. Sumatran benzoin and Venezuelan tonka absolute bring a softer sweetness around the warmth of the sandalwood; the milk reference describes an olfactory facet.
Try it with soft knitwear or a quieter palette of clothing. Created by Guichard and introduced in 2019, this eau de parfum has a different composition from the black-cardamom-enriched extrait. The illustrated 100mL bottle presents the fragrance in transparent angular glass, with a black cap and a white label.
