Mécanique Intuitive imagines a walk through the salons of a grand Parisian hotel. Leather, rum and tobacco establish a warm setting, with osmanthus, Madagascan vanilla and tonka bean giving it softer detail. Arnaud Poulain created the eau de parfum, introduced in 2016.
Osmanthus brings a fruity floral character beside the dry texture of black tea. Tobacco and rum move the heart toward leaves and a sweet, spirit-like warmth. Tonka bean, vanilla and leather leave a rounded sweet foundation with the substance of leather. The movement from tea’s drier character toward that fuller base provides the composition’s central contrast.
Pale gold liquid shows through the clear cylindrical 100mL bottle beneath a square black cap. It suits a cool evening when a warm fragrance with leather and a touch of rum feels more inviting than sweetness alone.
