Saïga
Blackcurrant bud, rose centifolia and cedarwood evoke the light movement and quiet strength of an antelope crossing grassland.
Perfumer: Céline Ripert
Saïga takes its subject from an antelope moving lightly across open grassland. Its graceful appearance and alert strength become a fruity floral, balancing the softness of a rose with something greener and more firmly outlined. It was introduced in 2019 in the animal-inspired Singulières collection. Céline Ripert composed the fragrance, while Jean-Claude Ellena provided the collection's creative direction.
Blackcurrant-bud absolute provides the opening. Its fruity suggestion includes a green character that differs from the scent of ripe berries alone. Rose-centifolia absolute brings a fuller floral presence at the heart, with cedarwood supplying a drier base. That wood keeps the rose's sweetness in a more restrained setting, allowing freshness and softness to remain in conversation.
Consider it when you want a brighter flower fragrance with a little greenery and a clear woody outline. The 100mL bottle is a transparent rectangle, showing pale liquid beneath a broad black cap. A framed botanical motif includes the date 1614, with the fragrance name printed separately towards the bottom.
