Contes du Levant
A vivid triad of peppers sparks against a green-tinged damascena rose before the scent sinks into smoky nuances and a deep, earthy patchouli base, turning a bright floral heart into a warm, mysterious rose-woody veil.
Scent Development and Character
Contes du Levant opens on a bright, crackling triad of peppers that lend dry, bracing heat over a cool green shimmer, quickly wrapping itself around a lush damascena rose that feels both dewy and velvety. As it settles, soft smoky wisps and resinous facets suggest incense and cistus weaving through the petals, before the fragrance deepens into a smooth, earthy patchouli that anchors the rose in a warm, slightly mysterious woody shadow.
Who It Is For and When to Wear It
The composition’s balance of spicy lift, luminous rose and grounded patchouli makes it well suited to cool to mild weather, where its evolution from bright pepper to warm rose-woody softness can be appreciated. It wears easily as a refined statement for daytime or evening, but its sensual warmth and moderate power particularly complement intimate dinners, cultural outings and occasions where a polished yet expressive rose is desired. Best suited to autumn and winter, with enough brightness and lift from the peppers and rose to remain wearable in cooler spring weather. Moderate to moderately strong sillage, projecting clearly in the first hours before settling into a more intimate but still perceptible aura around the wearer. Long-lasting within the context of a rose-spice eau de parfum, generally offering a noticeable presence for most of the day without becoming overwhelming.
