Salpa
Eucalyptus and white musk lead into jasmine, aldehydes, amber and sandalwood in a fragrance inspired by the deep sea.
Perfumer: Hidenori Matsuno
Salpa is a KOHSHI eau de parfum inspired by the mystery of the deep sea. Amber and sandalwood suggest an unfamiliar depth, while jasmine absolute provides a floral accent. Although the subject is underwater, the official composition is built around soft musk, flowers and warm woods rather than an explicitly marine accord.
Lemon, eucalyptus and white musk open the fragrance. Jasmine, aldehydes, rose, pink pepper, lavender and piment create the heart, placing herbal freshness and small spicy accents around the flowers. Amber, sandalwood, musk and vanilla form the base. This gives the fragrance a rounded, enveloping finish after the cooler impression of the eucalyptus opening.
The contrast suits a slower afternoon or evening when both freshness and softness are welcome. It also offers an alternative to a purely sweet perfume through its herbal and spicy details. The 50 mL bottle uses slender clear glass and a transparent cap, with the fragrance name and house emblem printed in black.
