Jasmin de Toscane
A layered jasmine built around a single Jasmine Sambac bloom carried back to Paris.
Perfumer: Jean-Christophe Hérault
Jasmin de Toscane began with a single flower. Creative director Rania Naim introduced Jean-Christophe Hérault to a jasmine variety that had scented each of her trips to her childhood country, bringing a fresh bloom back to Paris for him to smell.
What he found was a heady, distinctive Jasmine Sambac called Grand Duke of Tuscany. Hérault used IFF's Living Process to capture and reconstruct the scent of the living flower, and worked natural jasmine sambac into the formula in proportions rarely seen in contemporary perfumery. That concentration gradually shifts the liquid's color toward amber over time.
Grapefruit oil, a freesia accord and Tunisian petitgrain oil give a bright, green start. The heart layers three jasmines: Indian jasmine absolute, jasmine sambac absolute and the living Grand Duke of Tuscany, for a deeper floral density. Sinfonide™, benzoin resinoid and a hazelnut accord form a gently warm, sweet base.
