1828

Inspired by Jules Verne, born in Nantes, this eau de parfum turns the spirit of adventure into scent. Grapefruit and tangerine open bright, with eucalyptus adding a cool green edge. Nutmeg and pepper warm the heart, while cedar, incense, vetiver and pine cone settle into a dry, wooded base.

Jules Verne was born in Nantes in 1828. Growing up near the ocean, he went on to write novels of voyages across uncharted seas. This eau de parfum is dedicated to that imaginary traveler.

The opening is grapefruit and tangerine. Not a bursting brightness, but a composed citrus with a bitter edge of peel. Eucalyptus joins in, cool and green, like a marine breeze moving over wild heath.

As it settles, nutmeg and pepper appear. Their warmth slowly wraps around the cool citrus. Fresh citrus and warm spice give the composition a lively contrast.

Cedar, incense, vetiver and pine cone form the base. Dry wood, a faint resinous smoke, earth, and the green of conifers. It brings to mind a distant harbor and the forest beyond it at once.

The house pictures a wooden treasure chest filled with spices from distant lands, carried on a boat into uncharted seas. A summer afternoon or an open-air setting seems fitting for enjoying that spirit of adventure.
