DOPPELGÄNGER

The unsettling idea of meeting one’s double gives Doppelgänger its starting point. Heretic interprets that resemblance through musks that suggest human warmth, with a faint saline and animalic texture. Cool citrus and aromatic impressions lead into soft flowers and restrained spice; pale woods and diffuse musks form the remaining outline. Rather than building a heavy wooden structure, the composition uses wood to support a close, airy impression. Part of the GHOSTS collaboration with Chelsea Wolfe, it explores the point where a perfume can seem difficult to distinguish from the person wearing it.
