HATENKO

Perfumer: Atsushi Shimizu

ハテンコウ 浅草 50mL ボトル

Asakusa captures a district where the bustle of the streets meets the quiet of temples as day turns to night. Perfumer Atsushi Shimizu returns to HATENKO's place of origin, drawing on its prayers, lanes and memories. Introduced in 2026, the fragrance also takes inspiration from Hiroshige's Asakusa Kinryuzan print.

Yuzu and bergamot lead into flowers associated with the changing seasons: daphne, gardenia and osmanthus, joined by muguet. Enju, sandalwood, vetiver and musk form the base. Bright citrus and flowers give way to woody depth, expressing the district's transition between ordinary life and a quieter, more contemplative atmosphere.

Enju, the pagoda tree associated with Asakusa, is used in both the fragrance and the wooden cap. The broad 50mL glass bottle, with its visible wood grain and red lettering, carries the connection to the place through materials as well as scent.
