Southern Bloom captures the brief September flowering of boronia on Bruny Island, off the southern coast of Tasmania. Boronia absolute sits at the centre of a floral green composition that holds onto that fleeting bloom.
Jasmine sambac and ylang ylang join the boronia, building a dense, creamy floral character. Cassis brings a tart fruitiness and a green edge, giving the flowers some brightness. The soft texture of a coconut accord also contributes to their richness.
Powdery Italian iris, earthy Indonesian vetiver and smooth Australian sandalwood bring balance and depth. The flowers remain the focus, while green and woody facets give more detail to the composition. It is a way to enjoy a full floral scent with room for the character of leaves, roots and woods.
