Desert Rosewood
Australian Buddha Wood, spices and sweet resins evoke dry forests and sun-warmed wood.
Perfumer: François Merle-Baudoin
Desert Rosewood takes the arid forests and sun-warmed resin of Australia's Central Highlands as its subject. Composed by François Merle-Baudoin, this spicy amber combines rich wood with fruit, spices and sweeter resinous materials.
Australian Buddha Wood, also known as Desert Rosewood, provides a substantial woody texture. Sicilian mandarin brings a brighter sweetness, accompanied by the fresher spicy character of ginger. These materials give the warmer woody theme a more vivid fruit and spice expression.
Guaiac wood contributes a drier woody character, while Indonesian patchouli adds earthy depth. Indian cardamom introduces another spicy accent around the woods and resins, connecting the fresher opening materials with the warmer central theme.
Vanilla from the Comoros Islands, benzoin from Laos and amber provide a rounded, warm sweetness. Presented as an eau de parfum with a stated concentration of 20%, Desert Rosewood brings together dry wood, soft fruit and sweet resins in a fragrance inspired by the landscape of Australia's dry forests.
