Pleasures for Men is meant to capture the best times in life, with a fresh, crisp character and a feeling of energy and easy warmth. Estée Lauder describes it as a woody scent in which fruity citrus and herbs meet rich spice and fine woods.
The top lists citrus effervescence, nectarine, watery green leaves and a Sky Air Accord. The brand says this accord clarifies the whole blend; it keeps the nectarine's sweetness and the leafy greenness light and open.
In the middle, pimento, coriander seed and red ginger add warmth and bite. Pimento brings a rounded heat, coriander seed a dry spice and ginger a sharper edge, giving the bright opening more body.
The base combines sandalwood, iridescent ebony and deep forest moss. Smooth wood and the shaded depth of the moss settle the spice, so the scent finishes on a calm woody footing rather than on its sparkle. The word iridescent attached to the ebony suggests a dark wood with a hint of shine.
