Extrait Noir
A dark woody-leather scent where cool eucalyptus and camphor meet hot cinnamon and saffron over resin and leather, built on the idea of light emerging from black.

Élisire's Extrait Noir takes the colour black as its subject. Founder Franck Salzwedel says black intimidates him even as he believes light emerges from it; with perfumer Pierre Negrin, he pushed the material to its limits until the scent arrived as a star born of darkness. The opening is cool and medicinal, with eucalyptus and camphor sharpened by the dry bite of ginger and thyme. In the heart, Ceylon cinnamon and saffron bring heat, while patchouli, Bourbon geranium and lavandin absolute add earthiness and a bitter herbal green. The base gathers vanilla, benzoin, castoreum, cistus absolute and Wood Leather, so resinous sweetness meets an animalic, leathery shadow in a dark woody-leather composition where chill and warmth coexist. It is an Extrait de Parfum at 22%. The bottle is conceived as an architectural monolith of solid glass, shaped to catch light and echo the scent's play of dark and bright.
