Trajan

Trajan imagines a journey east from Rome in search of unfamiliar materials and cultures. Created by Marco Genovese, it follows that journey through citrus groves, fields of herbs and the shade of cedar woods. The adventurous spirit associated with Emperor Trajan provides the subject for the current extrait de parfum, introduced in 2020.

Mandarin, lemon, bergamot and blood orange bring a brighter opening, with geranium adding a warmer accent. Lavender, sage and saffron extend the zest into aromatic herbs and spice. Cedar, oakmoss and ambergris then build the base, combining drier wood with a cooler impression. The movement suggests leaving stronger sunlight for the calmer shade of a woodland, while retaining the freshness of the earlier citrus.

Consider it for a daytime outing when you want a brighter feeling, or when citrus with softer wood appeals. The 100mL bottle combines clear glass and pale liquid with a rose-gold-coloured cap and shoulders. A metal-toned circular medallion bears the eagle and fragrance name above the thick transparent glass base.
