Punk Motel
Bergamot and white rose petals given a salty edge with salicylates, set on musk, vanilla and ambrette seed.
Perfumer: Luca Maffei
Punk Motel pictures a lonely road where neon signs are the only things in sight. Luca Maffei sets white flowers and musk in a deep, warm composition. A slight salty texture sits alongside the softness of the petals.
Brightness comes from bergamot and white rose petals. Salicylates change that brightness, giving it a slightly salty edge, likened to sea wind crossing a desert. Citrus freshness and sheer petals are thus given a drier, saltier texture.
The base is built to envelop, with musk and vanilla rounding the composition and ambrette seeds adding character. Ambrette is a plant-derived musky material, and here its soft, slightly powdery sweetness deepens the warmth of the musk and vanilla. It suits someone who prefers salt-touched flowers and warm musk over plain citrus freshness for evenings out.
