Tonka

Tonka is built around a material perfumers have long relied on, Tonka Bean, and uses the surrounding notes to draw out its natural character. It opens with the soft, nutty quality of Almond Oil, lifted by the cool spice of Cardamom. Sandalwood then brings a smooth, warm woodiness, while Magnolia adds a gentle floral thread that gives the sweetness some shape. In the final stage, Tonka Bean and Benzoin remain. The resin's vanilla-like sweetness meets a powdery texture, and the two settle into an enveloping finish. Currently offered again as part of Commodity's Archive, it moves from nut and spice through wood and flower toward a quietly sweet close.
