Báinín
Named for the homespun wool of Aran knitwear: soft wool, coastal gorse and rain on warm earth.
Báinín, pronounced 'bawneen', is the homespun wool knitted into Aran jumpers and woven into the tweed of the collarless jackets Aran fishermen wore for generations. The word means 'little white', after the ivory skeins of yarn.
Cloon Keen aims for comfort and softness that still feels surprisingly fresh. Bergamot, yellow mandarin, lemon and neroli open alongside peppermint, thyme and clary sage, like herbs still wet with dew.
In the heart, a wool accord meets gorse, bringing warmth and a breath of the coast. Jasmine, jasmine sambac, violet, unripened pear and blackcurrant add a green, tart edge. Musks, cedarwood, Haitian vetiver, sandalwood and coumarin carry it towards the smell of rain on warm earth after a sudden shower.
