004 Gin Cologne evokes an aperitif with friends on a Parisian terrace. Ludovic Bonneton brought an image of Van Gogh’s Café Terrace at Night to Karine Dubreuil-Sereni’s workshop as a point of departure.
Lemon, bergamot and mandarin give a bright citrus entrance. Juniper berries suggest gin, followed by the lighter bite of ginger and the drier spice of nutmeg. Tobacco, patchouli and musks introduce dried leaves, shaded woods and a softer skin-like finish.
This eau de parfum is shown in a pale green square 100mL bottle with a black cap and white label. Its restrained sweetness and citrus-spice character suit an easy evening outing in a shirt.
