Demain Promis

Demain Promis translates as "tomorrow, I promise." Bastille frames it around resolutions made and then quietly shelved, such as morning meditation or the book still waiting on the nightstand. Its subject is the pleasure of an idle hour spent without guilt.

The scent turns on a contrast: the soft, milky spice of a chai latte, cut through by the dry herbal edge of lavender and sage. Bergamot opens brightly, while cinnamon and cardamom add a warm bite that already suggests spiced tea. In the heart, rose and milk add roundness, and lavender and sage keep the sweetness from turning slack. The base settles into smooth sandalwood and tonka bean, grounded by the earthier tones of patchouli and vetiver.

The perfumer, Caroline Dumur, describes it as "enveloping, addictive and cuddly." It suits a slow weekend morning at home or a cool day spent in a knit sweater, whenever herbal cleanliness and milky warmth are wanted side by side.
