Wild Wonder Thorn of a Rose
Damask rose and violet, tightened by incense and patchouli.
Perfumer: Jérôme Epinette
Thorn of a Rose looks past the bloom to the part that pricks. It belongs to Anna Sui's Wild Wonder collection of dreamlike fragrances, and the Japanese site describes it as fresh in energy, refined and timeless.
Mandarin and pink pepper make a bright, faintly peppery opening. In the middle, Damask rose is paired with violet, which gives the flower a powdery shade.
Incense and patchouli form the base, a dry, smoky, earthy finish that keeps the rose from drifting into sweetness. Only six notes are listed, and the scent is classed as floral woody.
