Portugal Eau de Cologne
Sweet orange and lemon lead into coriander and armoise, then ebony, moss and musk in a gently fresh eau de cologne inspired by Mediterranean sunlight and soft breezes.
Perfumer: Jean-Michel Santorini
Portugal Eau de Cologne is 4711’s interpretation of strong Mediterranean sunlight and soft breezes. Its name reflects the connection between oranges and Portugal, while gentle sweet orange stands at the centre of the fragrance. It combines refreshing fruit with the warmer character of wood.
Sweet orange and lemon provide the opening’s bright, juicy character. Coriander and armoise follow with spice and an herbal edge, before ebony, moss and musk shape the base. The herbs and spice temper the citrus sweetness; drier wood, the grounded character of moss and softer musk carry it into a calmer register.
It is an inviting choice for unobtrusive everyday fragrance or a daytime change of mood. The manufacturer recommends it across casual and formal settings, and the combination of citrus and wood gives that suggestion a clear basis. The image shows the 80mL eau de cologne, with a short gold cap, a red seal detail and a predominantly blue label on clear glass. It is treated separately from the eau de toilette concentration.
