27 87's 2024 DURIAN places a fruit known for its distinctive smell at the centre of an eau de parfum. The house explores how discomfort can give way to fascination, finding unexpected beauty in contrast. The number refers to the year of development; the fragrance appeared in the Archive Edition in 2026.
Durian opens the composition with Pomarose, a fruity rose material, and the floral ingredient Mahonial. The heart brings together Nympheal, with its fresh lily-of-the-valley character, and olibanum. Labdanum and tonka bean form the base, adding resinous depth and a warm sweetness to the fruit and flowers. The result is an unusual encounter between a provocative fruit impression and a softer floral-resinous setting.
