Shell Beach starts from a place: the Gulf of Porto in Corsica, which Karine Vinchon saw on one of her early journeys. She remembers walking toward the water and feeling sea spray settle on her skin, and the perfume tries to hold that gust of fresh air.
Aquatic notes, bergamot and fenugreek lead. Fenugreek is the unexpected part, laying a warm, faintly toasted sweetness over the clear, watery opening.
In the heart, jasmine and rose are joined by solar and marine accords, so the flowers smell salted and sunlit rather than arranged. Tonka bean, vanilla, patchouli and musk settle underneath and give the sea air a soft finish close to the skin.
