Use in Perfumery

Perfumers use oolong tea in citrus tea, floral tea, woody tea, musky, and lightly spicy compositions. Bergamot, mandarin, and grapefruit make it brighter; osmanthus, jasmine, magnolia, or orchid bring out floral nuance; guaiac wood, cedar, sandalwood, and musk extend its calm drydown. Oolong tea is useful when a fragrance needs sophistication without heaviness.

It can also soften sweetness, making fruit or florals feel quieter, more reflective, and less obviously decorative.
