About Copaiba
Copaiba comes from the balsam of the copaiba tree of the Amazon basin. For a balsamic material it is restrained in sweetness, characterised instead by dry resin, a faint peppery lift, and a bark-like texture.
Impression
Rather than the thick sweetness of benzoin or tolu, it leaves a dry warmth suspended between bark and sap. In the base it draws a composition closer to the ground and settles the outline of florals and spices.
