The perfumer is Aliénor Massenet. She studied art history, trained at Cinquieme Sens with Monique Schlienger, spent eighteen years at IFF, and joined Symrise in 2016. Her long collaboration with Clara and John Molloy began through Memo Paris and continued when the couple launched Hermetica Paris in 2018.

The house combines natural materials and aroma molecules in an alcohol-free base made with water, humectants, and sugarcane-derived molecules. Its intention is to give fragrance a softer, more moisturizing feel on skin. Jade refers to the smooth green stone and its association with longevity. The number 888 represents luck and possibility, while lily of the valley is another traditional symbol of good fortune. Stone, number, and flower therefore meet in the name.

Detailed Scent Analysis

The official top notes are lily of the valley, pear, and galbanum essence. Lily of the valley provides transparent white petals and cool air. Pear adds water and rounded fruit rather than heavy sweetness. Galbanum contributes the bitter green edge of snapped stems and sap.

The heart contains ginger extract, iris concrete, and clary sage essence. Ginger feels like a freshly cut root and dry plant fibre. Iris introduces fine powder, cool cloth, and smooth stone. Clary sage adds a dry herbal, tea-leaf quality that keeps the white flowers from becoming overly sweet.

The base is cedarwood essence, ambrette seed absolute, and musk. Cedarwood creates a dry wooden line, ambrette brings botanical musk and faint pear-like warmth, and musk leaves an impression of clean skin and white fabric.
