TOBBA

Founded in Hong Kong by Jasper Li and Adrian Yu in 2021, TOBBA brings a painter's approach to layering, contrast and emotion into fragrance.

About TOBBA

TOBBA is a perfume house founded in Hong Kong by Jasper Li and Adrian Yu in 2021. It approaches fragrance as an extension of visual art, connecting creative work rooted in Hong Kong with production in France. Scent gives that work a more intimate setting on the body.

History

Li worked as a painter before seeking a different medium, studying perfumery independently and later taking training with a supplier in Bangkok. Yu brought experience in fashion buying and luxury retail, helping turn individual creations into a perfume house. The name comes from the studio of Li's father, also a painter: a combination of tobacco and art that the son inherited for his own creative practice.

Philosophy and Character

Layering, contrast and changes in colour temperature carry over from painting into the way Li approaches fragrance. Materials are chosen for the emotions they evoke, with intuition and a willingness to explore new techniques guiding development. The house connects sight, touch and feeling through compositions that bring artistic expression closer to the skin.

Notable Fragrances

Higher Self draws on Tiger Balm and memories of a familiar Hong Kong cologne, reworking cultural references in a contemporary composition. Asura, created by Maxime Exler, brings creamy white flowers into contact with smoke.
