About Sous Le Manteau

Sous Le Manteau is a French fragrance house launched by Olivia Bransbourg in 2016. It takes old love-potion recipes as a starting point, with perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer reworking them into fragrances for contemporary wear. Intimacy, desire and the moments people keep to themselves give the collection its shared subject.

History

Bransbourg founded ICONOFLY, a publication and creative space in Paris, and introduced her first fragrance brand, Attache Moi, in 2009. Sous Le Manteau followed her earlier work connecting art with olfactory projects. In 2020, the collection received the Newcomer award from the Fragrance Foundation UK. Collaboration with artists and photographers remains part of the house's approach to presenting perfume.

Philosophy & Signature Style

The French name means under the cloak, suggesting the discreet circulation of objects and knowledge. Historical formulas provide a creative framework, while their materials and sensual character are reconsidered through modern perfumery. The focus is on translating the emotional atmosphere of the old recipes into something a person can wear today. The historical idea of a love potion becomes a way to explore a present-day moment of closeness.

Iconic Fragrances

The current range contains six perfumes, including Cuir d'Orient, Poudre Imperiale and Odisiaque. Every large bottle includes a porcelain talisman made in Limoges, France. Scented with perfume, it can be worn or tucked among personal belongings. The small object extends the experience beyond a spray on the skin, offering another way to carry a fragrance through everyday life.
