Pigmentarium

Founded in Prague by Tomáš Ric in 2018, Pigmentarium connects fragrance with art, personal memories and Czech craftsmanship.

About Pigmentarium

Pigmentarium is an independent Czech perfume house founded by Tomáš Ric in 2018. Based in Prague, it treats fragrance as a way to give form to dreams, memories and ideas. Stories and the objects surrounding a scent are part of its creative work alongside the composition itself.

History

The first fragrance, Ad Libitum, was conceived as an individual artistic creation and became a foundation for the house. Early work reflected an interest in architects and designers of the first half of the twentieth century. That interest developed into conversations with contemporary artists, creating exchanges in which fragrance could inspire an artwork and an artwork could answer through scent.

Philosophy and Character

The aim is to express a wearer's character rather than follow trends. Fragrances are made in Prague laboratories, while Czech craftspeople and small family businesses contribute ceramics, woodwork, paper boxes and printing. Objects for scenting interiors extend that approach into space, connecting function with a sculptural presence. The combination of fragrance, local craft and artistic collaboration gives each project a setting beyond the perfume bottle.

Notable Fragrances

Ad Libitum remains the starting point of the collection. Oratorio connects fragrance with the atmosphere of a Prague church, while Aereo uses cashmeran and myrrh to explore a quieter, inward-looking sense of refuge.
