About Jeroboam
Jeroboam is a Parisian perfume house created by François Hénin. It grew from his experiments with independent perfumer Vanina Muracciole around a concentrated musk base. The collection presents fragrance in extrait de parfum form, with musk providing a recurring foundation for distinct floral, fruity, spicy and woody compositions.
History
Hénin also works with the Jovoy perfume house and boutiques. What began as an exploratory exchange with Muracciole became a brand after her musk base, Origino, suggested a wider olfactory world. The house name refers to the large three-litre wine bottle called a jeroboam. Giving that name to a small 30 mL perfume bottle expresses Hénin’s enjoyment of contrasting scales.
Philosophy & Signature Style
The house connects portable bottles and concentrated perfume with the needs of people who travel light. Esperanto, a language conceived for international communication, informs its fragrance names and the idea of scent as a meeting point between people. The shared interest in musk leaves room for different materials and textures in each work, from creamy flowers to spice, resin and dry wood.
Representative Fragrances
Origino is the founding musk composition, with bergamot, juniper and sandalwood. Oriento approaches the rose-and-oud accord through spice and a musky base. Gozo sets tuberose and saffron against woods and musk. Its orange bottle also marks a visual departure from the black and gold associated with the earlier collection.
