Vanille
Two vanillas meet citrus, rum, fermented cocoa and resins, exploring the fruity and tobacco-like facets behind the bean’s sweetness.
Perfumer: Yadiy Hadini
Vanille explores the vanilla bean beyond sweetness, taking in facets of fruit, fermentation, balsam and tobacco. Its starting point was the maker’s encounter with vanilla beans from Sabah, Malaysia.
Sweet orange and Calabrian bergamot open the composition, with a prickle of pink pepper CO2. The heart contains Bourbon vanilla absolute and a Sabah vanilla tincture. Rum CO2 adds a boozy depth, while magnolia oil and Bulgarian rose otto bring floral softness.
The house describes Bourbon vanilla as a complex material with woody, smoky, balsamic and boozy facets. The Sabah material is described as less boozy, with dried-fruit nuances recalling prunes and a tobacco-like backbone. Their different characters give the composition more to explore than a single sweet impression.
Fermented cocoa, Madagascar tonka bean absolute, Peru balsam, Siam benzoin and sandalwood form the base. Offered at 25% parfum concentration, Vanille suits someone who enjoys the textures of resins and wood alongside vanilla’s sweetness.
