Chergui
An amber named after Morocco's hot, dry wind, where immortelle, Russian leather, and hay add dry smoke, gentle bitterness, and powder to honeyed sweetness.

About This Fragrance
Chergui is a Serge Lutens Eau de Parfum introduced in 2001. Its name comes from the hot, dry wind that blows across Morocco, and it is now offered in the Collection Noire as 50 ml and 100 ml sprays.
Scent Profile
The official key notes are immortelle, Russian leather, and hay. Dry smoke and powder stand out inside a sweet amber, while immortelle adds bittersweet warmth. On skin, the balance can shift among a cool medicinal-herbal edge, tobacco-like darkness, amber warmth, and powdery softness, so the fragrance is not merely sweet.
Who It's For
It suits autumn and winter evenings, quiet meals, reading, and other close settings where its development can be followed. Begin with one spray and wait at least twenty minutes on skin rather than judging only the sharp hay impression on paper. The later balance of honey, leather, and powder is the better guide.
