holy_wood is inspired by the spiritual awakening of 1970s California and the creative explosion of New Hollywood. Just as young directors used new techniques to reinvent cinema, perfumer Frank Voelkl used recent materials to rework the decade's signature rose-and-patchouli accord in a brighter, lighter form.
At its core is Clearwood®, derived from the fermentation of sugar cane and presented as a 21st-century answer to patchouli without its musty facets. Rose Petal Nature Print®, described as an airy capture of the flower's scent, joins sparkling pink pepper. Bulgarian rose and jasmine sambac add glamour, while sandalwood and suede form a soft base.
The composition favors clarity over weight. It suits someone who wants that classic seventies pairing with a modern, luminous feel.
