Duro explores masculine strength in its different manifestations. Dense, dry woods meet firm leather, while spice gives the composition a sharply defined edge. The impression is a substantial woody leather, bringing together hardness, warmth and a slightly rough texture, as though wood and hide were close at hand. Those sensory qualities give form to the maker’s chosen subject of strength. Its large square cap is made from wenge, a timber known for its strength. Released in 2007, it is one of Alessandro Gualtieri’s early Nasomatto works.
