Sketch
An amber chypre that moves from bright bergamot and measured spice through rose and tuberose to patchouli and vanilla, with white musks lightening its vintage frame.

Sketch is what Maison Violet calls an amber chypre: an amber accord with a deliberately vintage cast, updated rather than reproduced. Bergamot opens brightly, framed by the soft warmth of nutmeg and the dry snap of pink pepper. The brand describes the spices as measured, and they read as an outline around the citrus rather than a source of heat. At the heart, rose and tuberose sit side by side, the rose rounded, the tuberose dense and creamy, giving the composition body. The base gathers earthy, deep patchouli with Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean, so the structure stays shadowed while the sweetness warms its edges. In the brand's account, white musks lighten the retro framework, aiming for a balance between heritage and the present. With its weight and sweetness, it suits evenings, or days when wool, leather or a sharper silhouette call for a scent with some gravity.
