Nuée Bleue
Sparkling bergamot and orange blossom give way to soft iris and carnation, finished with a clean, lightly aldehydic musk.
Perfumer: Nathalie Lorson
Nuée Bleue, French for 'blue cloud,' is a floral built on the meeting of brightness and softness. It opens with sparkling bergamot and lemon over orange blossom. The start is clear and sunlit rather than sharp. At the heart sits orris absolute, iris being the ingredient Maison Violet treats as its signature. It is paired with a carnation accord whose gentle spice warms it, so the iris never turns cool. The house compares the result to the smooth, velvety feel of a baby's skin, and that powdery suppleness is the scent's center of gravity. The base settles into sandalwood and the mellow sweetness of benzoin beneath a veil of white musk. Lightly aldehydic, that musk lends a crisp, soapy cleanness, like freshly laundered cotton. It suits days when you want radiance without flourish, worn close to the skin.
