Flamenco Néroli
An evening walk through the Alcazar gardens in Seville, guided by flamenco guitar: luminous néroli and citrus over two cedarwoods.
Perfumer: Anne-Sophie Behaghel
It is 7:22 p.m. in the gardens of the Alcazar Palace in Seville. Flamenco Néroli follows an evening walk guided by the subtle arpeggios of a flamenco guitar. The brand titles it "A Luminous Walk" and tags it "Mezzo Piano," "High Frequencies" and "95 BPM."
Néroli, the note in the name, leads the list. Its clean white-flower freshness, edged with a peel-like bitterness, is layered with bergamot and bigarade, thickening the bright citrus. Ginger adds a sharp tingle that suits the brand's word "vibrating."
Jasmine rounds the citrus with a softer floral curve, while two cedarwoods, Virginia and Atlas, hold everything from below. Their dry woodiness keeps the brightness from scattering and settles it into the calm of early evening.
Anne-Sophie Behaghel composed the perfume. The music comes from Mathias Berchadsky, one of the most recognized flamenco guitarists of his generation in France. He chose the guitar at twelve and was drawn to flamenco by a trip to Seville, the same city the scent depicts.
