Scent Development and Character
Buveur de Vent is an aromatic leather fougère that opens with a brisk, wind‑swept blend of bergamot, petitgrain and lavender over resinous cypress, juniper and tarragon. As it develops, a powerful green wave of galbanum and herbal clary sage wraps around dry cedar, before settling into a dense, slightly smoky leather base cushioned by sandalwood and earthy oakmoss. The impression is of saddle leather and wild vegetation under a cool sky, vivid yet controlled rather than loud.
Who It Is For and When to Wear It
Buveur de Vent wears as a structured yet untamed leather fougère, with a noticeable aromatic‑green presence for the first few hours and a more subdued, smoky‑mossy leather aura later on. It is best suited to temperate or cooler weather, where its herbal intensity, cypress and leather feel crisp rather than overpowering, and works well in contemplative daytime settings or evening wear for those who enjoy assertive yet refined woods and leather. Application should be moderate, as the green‑aromatic heart and oakmoss‑leather base can become quite dense close to the skin. Best suited to autumn and winter, with its dense green herbs, cypress and leather thriving in cool air; it can also work in early spring on cooler days, but may feel heavy in hot, humid summer weather. Sillage: moderate to slightly above average: the aromatic herbs, cypress and leather project clearly in the first hours, then settle into a noticeable but not room‑filling trail if applied with restraint. Longevity: generally medium‑long, with the aromatic‑green accord prominent for 3–4 hours and the leather‑oakmoss base lingering on skin well beyond that, though not as tenacious as heavier ambers or pure leathers.
