Sperone
Bergamot and thyme meet immortelle, black pepper, cedarwood and labdanum in a spicy amber woody portrait of Corsica's fragrant coastal scrub.
Perfumer: Amélie Bourgeois
Sperone looks beyond the white sand and blue sea of southern Corsica to the scrubland that becomes more fragrant as evening wind reaches the coast. The subject is the maquis: aromatic vegetation where thyme, labdanum cistus and immortelle grow close to the shore. Amélie Bourgeois of the Flair studio developed this 2023 eau de parfum under Jean-Claude Ellena's creative direction.
Bergamot and thyme give the opening a brighter herbal character. Immortelle and black pepper then bring a warmer, spicy heart, followed by the drier woodiness of cedar and the resinous depth of labdanum. The scene is formed by sun-warmed vegetation beside the sea, rather than by an announced marine accord.
Try it when you want an aromatic fragrance with warmth beneath its freshness. The 100mL presentation has a black cylindrical body beneath a broad black cap. Gold-coloured lettering and a framed botanical drawing decorate the front label, with Sperone printed clearly below the house motif.
