Scent Development and Character

Cuir Grenat opens with a vivid, juicy raspberry accord that immediately sets a bright, tactile contrast against a dense leather backdrop. As it develops, the leather grows darker and more smoked, shot through with the warm, ambery radiance of Ambrofix that softens the edges and adds a subtly resinous glow. The drydown settles into a warm, luminous leather skin scent where the raspberry becomes more abstract, leaving a faintly sweet impression over a supple, gently animalic hide.

Who It Is For and When to Wear It

Best suited to cooler weather or temperate evenings, where its warm leather and ambery glow feel enveloping without becoming heavy. It wears with a noticeable but contained presence, working well for dressed‑up casual to refined evening occasions, and can be shared comfortably across genders. Most at home in autumn and winter, where its warm leather and ambery depth feel enveloping; it can also work on cooler spring evenings but may be heavy in hot summer weather. Moderate to moderately strong sillage in the first hours, settling closer to the skin as the ambery leather base takes over. Above‑average longevity, with the leather‑amber base lingering for many hours while the raspberry becomes more diffused after the first few hours.

Perfumer and Bottle

Released in 2023, this is an Eau de Parfum credited to Christophe Raynaud. Standard L'Artisan Parfumeur faceted glass bottle in clear glass with a dark cap, presented for Cuir Grenat in the brand’s current design language. The Les Merveilles collection also includes a highly limited edition of Cuir Grenat whose bottle is entirely covered in hand-applied 24‑carat gold leaf, but the core catalog entry refers to the regular Eau de Parfum bottle.
