Not Your Rose

Not Your Rose imagines a rose in winter mist and colder air, an intriguing flower beyond reach. Created by Caroline Dumur for the 2024 Absolue Les Parfums collection, it brings the coolness of a frost-covered flower together with the softer sweetness of centifolia rose and ambrette. Its mysterious setting has a gentler texture close to the skin, reflecting the perfumer’s idea of a rose made more compelling by its elusiveness.

Centifolia rose from the estate has fruit-like and honey-like sweetness with lightly spicy facets. Musk adds a softer, powdery feeling, while ambrette brings rounded sweetness around the flower. A moss accord contributes freshness with a warmer, mineral-like impression, suggesting a walk through nature. Within the Halo construction, rose forms the centre of these elements. A cooler, watery freshness sits alongside softer flowers and musk, leaving floral fullness within the clearer atmosphere.

Consider it when you want both fresher rose and gentler musk, perhaps for a quieter outing or with clothes in more understated colours. The selected transparent cylindrical 100mL bottle shows pale beige-pink liquid under a gold-coloured cap. Its round plaque names the product and brand, with a rose sculpted into the thick glass base.
