Tuberose Angelica
Midnight-garden tuberose framed by peppery angelica above and warm amberwood below.
Perfumer: Marie Salamagne
Tuberose Angelica starts from the image of a garden at midnight, crowded with tuberose florets. The flower is the centre, but it is framed: angelica adds a green, herbal note and amber brings warmth around it.
Angelica arrives first, earthy and aromatic with a peppery edge, and that sharpness keeps the opening from turning soft too early. Tuberose takes the heart, a white floral known for a sumptuous, sensuous scent that leaves a trail. Amberwood sits underneath, a woody note with an amber-like warmth.
Jo Malone London describes its Cologne Intense line as sharing a warm, sensual and appetising dimension. Here that warmth is carried mostly by the amberwood beneath the flower, so the herbal top and woody base hold the tuberose between them.
