Orange Marmalade
A cologne drawn from British marmalade-making, layering bitter peel and bright orange over a deep base of patchouli.
Orange Marmalade begins in a British kitchen, with orange peel simmering on the stove until the air turns bright and bitter. The pull between bitter rind and sweet preserve is the whole idea, and Jo Malone London refines that most British of spreads into a cologne.
The opening orange peel accord is built for texture: the chewy bitterness of shred suspended in marmalade, designed to lift the natural orange that follows. In the heart, natural bitter orange adds sparkle and freshness while sharpening the peel effect, so the citrus reads as zest and pith rather than juice.
Natural patchouli anchors the base with deep, earthy wood and helps the scent last, while clary sage adds a herbal edge. The woods leave a warm finish, with some of the orange peel’s bitterness still apparent.
