Gardenia & Oud
Sunlit gardenia rising out of smoky oud: bright petals and dark resin held in one Absolu.
Jo Malone London pairs two materials that rarely meet: gardenia in full sun and oud from somewhere much darker. The image behind it is white blossoms opening in the sun, their scent carried deep into the Arabian desert.
The gardenia sits at the heart, treated as a smooth white flower that seems to hold the light. Beneath it, the oud is resinous and dense, with an animal shadow running through it. That darkness is what makes the petals read so bright.
As the heart gives way to the base, smoke and the warmth of amber spread out, and white musk smooths the edges at the end.
