Vanille Glacé
A vanilla interpretation of marron glacé, shaded by madeleine warmth and bitter espresso.
Perfumer: Margaux Le Paih Guérin
Vanille Glacé begins with marron glacé, the chestnut confection slowly steeped in syrup over several days. Its idea is to put vanilla in the chestnut’s place and explore sweetness that has had time to deepen. The chestnut supplies the culinary inspiration rather than the central perfume note.
A brown-sugar-syrup impression opens with the warm grain of cinnamon powder. The vanilla heart feels fuller and more syrup-steeped than airy. Toasted madeleine adds a softer baked impression, while espresso gives the sweetness a thin bitter shadow, recalling the contrast once provided by the chestnut skin.
Tonka bean and sandalwood add warmth and a creamy woody texture beneath the vanilla. Modern woods and soft musk smooth the finish. Margaux Le Paih Guérin’s composition expands a confectionery idea through the relationship between concentrated sweetness, baking warmth and a small bitter accent.
