JEANNICE

A refined chypre-floral that opens with peppery hesperidic brightness, flows into a cool, silken bouquet of jasmine, iris and Damask rose, then settles into a mossy sandalwood-cedar base with quietly persistent, autumnal depth.

Scent Development and Character

JEANNICE opens with a bright, slightly bitter hesperidic rush wrapped in aromatic herbs and a precise crackle of pepper, immediately announcing a refined chypre tension. As it settles, a poised floral heart of jasmine, iris and Damask rose unfolds with a cool, silken texture, calmly softening the initial spice without losing structure. In the drydown, Indian sandalwood, cedarwood and oakmoss form a classic chypre base: woody, mossy and gently earthy, with a dignified, lingering depth that turns the early brightness into a more shadowed, autumnal elegance.

Who It Is For and When to Wear It

In Les Essences, JEANNICE wears as a concentrated, intimate chypre veil best suited to cooler weather, evening occasions and moments requiring a composed, slightly nostalgic elegance. Applied as Les Brumes, the same structure becomes more diffused and airy, working well as a day-to-evening signature in early autumn or spring, splashed on skin or lightly misted over clothing to create a subtle atmosphere rather than a projecting trail. JEANNICE is especially suited to autumn, where its mossy woods and peppery florals echo cooler air and layered clothing; it also wears well in early spring when the hesperidic and aromatic top feels fresh yet grounded, while being a bit rich for peak summer heat and somewhat airy for the coldest winter nights. Sillage is In Essences form, the sillage is moderate, forming a measured aura close to the wearer rather than a wide trail; Les Brumes diffuses more broadly at first but quickly settles into a soft, intimate cloud. Longevity is As Les Essences, JEANNICE has long-lasting persistence with a mossy-woody base that easily extends beyond 8 hours on skin; as Les Brumes, it wears more airily but still offers a noticeable presence through much of the day. These are editorial estimates derived from the official composition and concentration and will vary with skin and climate.

Perfumer and Bottle

Released in 2019, this is presented as Essence and credited to Undisclosed. JEANNICE is presented in Henry Jacques’ signature Les Essences crystal flacon and the Les Brumes flacon, the latter designed with a dual-function top allowing both splash and spray application, expressing a lighter, airy interpretation of the original essence.
