About This Fragrance
Musc Outreblanc by Guerlain joined L'Art & La Matiere in 2022. White musks, neroli, orange blossom absolute, Bulgarian rose, ambrette, and iris pallida butter are presented as parallel official key notes. Inspired by Rodin's marble sculpture The Kiss, it translates the paradox of bodily warmth emerging from hard, cold white stone into fragrance.
Scent Profile
Neroli's green citrus light and the chalky powder of iris illuminate white musks in the opening. Orange blossom and rose soften the outline, while ambrette adds seed-like warmth and pale fruit. The official presentation is a key-note structure rather than a top-heart-base pyramid. As it settles, the scent may suggest body lotion, cashmere, and milky pale woods close to the skin.
Who It's For
It suits someone seeking a powdery, intimate white musk rather than a literal soap or laundry scent. Spring and autumn, summer evenings, air-conditioned interiors, museums, libraries, hotels, and quiet dates match its restrained distance. Because musks can cause olfactory adaptation, begin with one spray and check the drydown on both skin and clothing before adding more.
